Food Abundance + Legalization
Okay, so you’re sick of binge eating. Sick of feeling out of control. And you’ve read my last two blog posts so you understand that your restriction + deprivation around food (whether physical or emotional) is causing you to feel crazy around it.
So what do you do next?
Creating food abundance and legalizing all foods is the road to relaxed and intuitive eating.
Why?
Because if all foods aren’t created equal in your brain, you are going to have some on a pedestal and experience a disordered relationship with that food.
It’s sort of like you’re dating someone long distance, and when they come visit all you want to do is spend allll of your time with that person. And you can’t really focus at work because you’re so nervous they may not come back soon and you miss them so much. Sounds funny but that’s the relationship you’re creating with these “dangerous” or “off limits” or “bad” foods.
SO, by adding these foods back into your daily life (whether all at once or little by little), you’re creating more abundance around them, healing your scarcity trauma from potentially years of delegating these foods to the “shouldn’t” category.
Legalization is the process by which you heal your diet trauma, and create a feeling of permission around all foods.
This can be a bit trickier as it connects deeply to body image. If you hate your body and believe you have the ability to control your body by weight loss/dieting, then it will be hard to see all foods as equal. Make sense?
That’s why we have a whole module about body image in my Binge Breakers Program. You just can’t separate the two.
If you want to understand more about how we cannot control our body weight long term through dieting, you can read more about that in my next blog post HERE.
If you're ready to seriously end your battle with food, you can read more about how I work with clients here.
